Norgesic is a muscle relaxant and acts to reduce the chemicals in your body that cause pain and inflammation. It blocks nerve impulses that go to the brain, and is used to lessen pain, inflammation, and fever. Caffeine is used in it to boost the pain relieving-effects of this drug. Along with proper rest and physical therapies, Norgesic is used to treat injuries or other muscular conditions that may cause pain. It can also be used for other reasons, besides those which are recommended in the formal prescription.

Norgesic can cause drowziness or dizziness. Because of this, you should be careful if you have to drive, operate machinery or undertake any kind of active job after taking this drug. You should also avoid drinking alcohol, as it can enhance drowsiness and dizziness if you are taking Norgesic. Moreover, alcohol along with Norgesic, may harm your stomach.

To be on the safe side, you should take Norgesic as prescribed by your doctor.
It is advised that you consume it with with a full glass of water. You must remember not to take more than what is recommended. If you continue to experience pain in spite of taking the advised dosage, you should consult your doctor rather than taking any more tablets.

Keep Norgesic at room temperature and do not expose it to heat or mositure.

Some of the rare side effects of Norgesic include allergic reactions like difficulty in breathing,  irregular or fast heartbeat, confusion, hallucinations, or abnormal behavior, red, black, or bloody stools or blood in vomit. Some less grave side effects (which are more common) are drowsiness or dizziness, headache, tremor, blurred vision or large pupils, difficulty urinating, hiccups, faint ringing in the ears, nausea, vomiting, or constipation.

If you experience any of these syptoms, or any others, you should see your doctor without delay. If you experience bloody or black stools or blood in vomit, it could indicate that your stomach is being damaged by the drug. In all these situations, take your doctor’s advice.

If you suffer from kidney disease, liver disease, a stomach or intestinal ulcer or obstruction, bleeding or blood clotting disorder, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate or a blockage of the urinary tract, or myasthenia gravis, you should inform your doctor before taking Norgesic. Your doctor may advise you not to take this drug – or prescribe a different dosage – keeping in mind your physical condition.  In the case of pregnancy, you should not take this medicine – or consult your doctor beforehand.
